Junior and Senior Infants are doing Music Makers workshops each Tuesday for 4 weeks with Maria Sheil (started 13th January)

Well done to 5th class on their successful science project entered in the Science Fair in the RDS. Their project aimed to find ways to prevent people from crying while cutting onions!

Our Junior Infants go blackberry picking. They then made jam from the blackberries and their own brown bread.

  • Christmas Cards: Please ensure all Christmas card orders are sent in class teachers by Friday 20th November. Place money in envelope provided. If you have misplaced the envelope any envelope will do with child's name, class and quantity required written on outside.

  • Book Fair will now take place on Wednesday 25th and Thursday 26th November, 2015. Please note change of dates.

  • Our Enrolment Policy will now be called our Admissions Policy in line with Dept of Education and Skills advice and following the annual review by the Board of Management in November 2015.

  • Yoga for Children: Yoga for SI, 1st, 2nd and 4th on Friday 6th November. Yoga for JI, 3rd, 5th and 6th on Friday, 20th November. Yoga will be available as an after school class. Details will be sent to parents shortly.

  • Dress Up for Dyslexia Day: Thanks to everyone for their support in aid of the Dyslexia Association of Ireland (DAI) on 23rd October. We raised 338.50.

  • Up the Dubs! Sam Maguire visited on Monday, 19th October! Click here to view class photos with the players.

  • Official Opening of Porch: Official opening of Porch took place on Friday, 23rd October. We had a fun day!

  • GOAL Jersey Day 2015: We raised 422 euros. Thanks to everyone who supported.

  • Irish Dancing on Tuesdays: All classes have Irish Dancing classes every Tuesday for the first term with Sinéad Lightley in the school hall.

  • GAA with Barry on Wednesdays: Junior Infants-2nd class have GAA coaching every Wednesday for the first term with Barry from O'Dwyer's GFC.

  • Swimming for 3rd Class: Swimming lessons for 3rd Class will begin on Monday 11th January and run for six weeks.

  • Meet and Greet for parents and teachers took place on Monday, 21st September.

  • Tidy Towns: Well done to the our local dedicated tidy towns volunteers who received special mention in the Drogheda Independent for keeping our village looking the 'best ever' this Summer.

  • Balscadden Tractor Run: Thanks to everyone who supported the 2015 Tractor Run.

  • Christmas Class Performances will take place on Wednesday, 16th December (Junior Infants, Senior Infants, 1st, and 2nd) and Friday, 18th December (3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th).
