The Parents' Association set up an ice cream stall to celebrate our recent successes in football and athletics!

Our Biodiversity Action Day took place on 20th March. Well done to all our pupils for producing such wonderful 'wildlife'. Thanks to all the parents who volunteered their help!

Dublin Boyband Taken visit the school and put on a show for classes 3rd-6th!

Junior and Senior Infants are doing Music Makers workshops each Tuesday for 4 weeks with Maria Sheil (started 13th January)

Well done to 5th class on their successful science project entered in the Science Fair in the RDS. Their project aimed to find ways to prevent people from crying while cutting onions!

Thanks to all the parents who helped out with Maths Week!

Our Junior Infants go blackberry picking. They then made jam from the blackberries and their own brown bread.

We received our Digital School of Distinction award.

Our Green School committee are working on their Biodiversity Flag by planting a butterfly garden.

  • Summer Holidays: The school re-opens on Tuesday 1st September, 2015.

  • Balscadden Tractor Run 2015 will take place on Sunday, 13th September.

  • Arts Event in all classes on took place on 7th and 8th May with the theme "Space and "The Future".

  • Skip Hop in Balscadden on Monday, 9th March. All classes enjoyed a skipping workshop. This event was made possible through the Voluntary Contributions of our parents.

  • Seachtain na Gaeilge ran from 9th-13th March, 2015. Lá sa Halla was on Thursday 12th March where each class performed in the school hall.

  • Friendship Week 2015: As part of our anti-bullying policy we are celebrated Friendship Week in the school from 9th-13th February. This is part our anti-bullying strategy.

  • World Book Day 2015 took place on 5th March.

  • Christmas Fair: We raised €4142.53. Thanks to the Parents' Association who organised and ran the Fair this year. Well done, what a great success!

  • Clothes Collection: Thanks to everyone who supported, we raised €390 for PE equipment for the pupils!

  • Mother and Baby visits: 6th class are involved in a programme called Roots of Empathy. A mother and baby visit the class once a month. More information on
