Our Junior Infant class published their Proclamation for a New Generation! The future is in good hands!

School Photography Day took place  on 1st March. It included a whole school photograph for our 1916 project.

Great excitement in the school with a visit from the National Reptile Zoo to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the school building. This event was made possible through the voluntary contributions of parents. Well done to all the pupils who made such excellent reptile projects!

Good Golly Miss Molly #bravefighter. Susan Mullen from the Balscadden Parents' Association presents a cheque to the Molly McNally Miracle Trust from the proceeds of the sale of our personalised Christmas cards.

Minister for Education and Skills Jan O'Sullivan took a special interest in our Science Fair project 2016.Well done to our pupils who answered her questions so confidently! She was very impressed with the project!

Junior and Senior Infants are doing Music Makers workshops each Tuesday for 4 weeks with Maria Sheil (started 13th January)

Well done to 5th class on their successful science project entered in the Science Fair in the RDS. Their project aimed to find ways to prevent people from crying while cutting onions!

  • First Holy Communion will take place on Saturday, 21st May, 2016 at 12 noon in Balscadden Church.

  • Football finals in Parnell Park will take place on 17th or 19th May, 2016.

  • Santry Athletics will take place Wednesday, 25th May in Morton Stadium.

  • Standardised Testing Week will take place from 30th May to 3rd June for 1st class-6th class.

  • Tractor Run 2016 will take place on Sunday, 29th May.

  • Our annual Sports Day will take place on Tuesday, 14th June, weather permitting. All parents are welcome to attend and bring a picnic! Active Week will take place on the week of 13th June.

  • The school closes for the Summer Holidays on Thursday, 30th June, 2016.

  • Confirmation took place on Wednesday, 27th April, 2016 in Ss Peter and Pauls Church, Balbriggan. Congratulations to the 6th class children and to the choir who sang beautifully.

  • Diocesan Advisor Visit: We had a visit from two Diocesan Advisors from Archbishop's House on Wednesday, 13th April. They were very complimentary of all the school's work and had the height of praise for the children.

  • Proclamation Day took place on Tuesday, 15th March 2016. Click here to read our Proclamation for a New Generation.

  • Choir trip: School choir trip to Seussical the Musical in Rush takes place on 15th March. Depart school at 7.15pm and return to school 10.30-10.45pm.

  • Seachtain na Gaeilge: 7-11 Márta 2016. Bhí Lá sa Halla againn le gach rang ar an 8ú Márta. Bhí an spraoi againn go léir.

  • Remembering 1916: We had a number of activities to help remember the 1916 Rising culminating in Proclamation Day on 15th March. 5th and 6th classes visited the new GPO experience exhibit on Friday, 8th April. Senior classes learned from specially prepared text books from CJ Fallon publishers. They also learned from a DVD called Ireland: Birth of a Nation. The children developed a Proclamation for a New Generation which will be displayed in the school alongside the 1916 Proclamation and a framed photograph of Thomas Ashe and a 2016 school photograph project.

  • 30th Anniversary of the school building: On 26th February, 2016 we celebrated the 30th anniversary of the school building by having a visit from the National Reptile Zoo. Thanks to the Parents' Association for supporting this event.

  • School Photography Day: School photographs were taken on 1st March.

  • World Book Day: 3rd March.

  • Friendship Week 2016: As part of our Anti-Bullying policy Friendship Week took place in the school from 8th-12th February.

  • Little Music Makers workshops began on Tuesday 12th January 2016 for four Tuesdays for junior and senior infants.

  • The school choir performed in the hall on Wednesday 9th and Thursday 10th December. We had two lovely evenings!

  • Our Christmas Fair raised €4350. Thanks to the Parents' Association for the months of preparation that went into the fair. Thanks to everyone who came on the day and supported the school. Thanks also to everyone who knitted, baked or created handmade crafts for our stalls.

  • Thanks to everyone who attended the Christmas Quiz organised by the Parents' Association.

  • Our Enrolment Policy will now be called our Admissions Policy in line with Dept of Education and Skills advice and following the annual review by the Board of Management in November 2015.

  • Dress Up for Dyslexia Day: Thanks to everyone for their support in aid of the Dyslexia Association of Ireland (DAI) on 23rd October. We raised 338.50.

  • Up the Dubs! Sam Maguire visited on Monday, 19th October! Click here to view class photos with the players.

  • Official Opening of Porch: Official opening of Porch took place on Friday, 23rd October. We had a fun day!

  • GOAL Jersey Day 2015: We raised 422 euros. Thanks to everyone who supported.

  • GAA with Barry on Wednesdays: Junior Infants-2nd class have GAA coaching every Wednesday for the first term with Barry from O'Dwyer's GFC.

  • Swimming for 3rd Class: Swimming lessons for 3rd Class will begin on Monday 11th January and run for six weeks.
